Test your robot and give it new skills. No coding needed.
Flash from this page using a USB data cable, or download a ZIP to keep the firmware and source. Use the tester program to check every part. Then choose a robot program, like driving from your phone or following a line.
One click. It's a tiny program that lets this page read the sensors.
Spin the wheels, wave at the ultrasonic, move the IR sensors, turn the servo.
Install a robot program, then play with the TRC Wireless app.
Do this once per robot. It takes about a minute.
Close the install window, press EN / RESET on the ESP32 once, then:
Hold a button. Each wheel should spin the way the arrow says.
Wheel spins backwards? Swap that motor's two wires in its green terminal.
Move each sensor from white paper onto black tape.
Box doesn't change? Turn the small screw on the IR module until its light switches over the tape.
Move your hand towards the sensor's two "eyes".
The ultrasonic head should turn left and right.
Your PICO BOT is ready for a robot program.
In Car Mode with the Smart All Modes program. Open a dashboard and press Start. STOP, leaving the panel or the joystick takes control back.
The LINE panel includes White/Black tape and Between sensors/Over tape options. FOLLOW has its own distance and speed controls.
No phone? Press the BOOT button on the ESP32 to switch modes.
Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a laptop or desktop. Phones and Safari can't talk to USB.
Try another USB cable (many are charge-only). On Windows you may need the CP210x USB driver.
Close Arduino IDE's Serial Monitor and any other tab using the robot, then press EN/RESET.
Swap the two wires of that motor in its green terminal block.
Install a Bluetooth program first (Wireless, Ultrasonic, Line or Smart). The tester and Simple Bot don't use Bluetooth.
Make your own robot program with drag-and-drop blocks right here in Thinking Robot Labs, or open the Arduino code from your kit.
